About LAArk

The Llama Association of Arkansas (LAArk) is a Non-Profit association which was formed in March of 2001. Our mission is to provide our members with the latest information from the camelid world as well as developing Play-day Events, Outings, Seminars, Shows, etc.

Our members reside in Arkansas and neighboring states - but residents of any state are welcome to become members. As a group, our members make up a network of llama-knowledgeable people who are willing to share their wide range of experience and skills with other members.

All members receive the LAArk newsletter which contains the latest camelid information available.  We strive to keep our members informed as well as entertained.

Although LAArk is a young association, we have been successful in improving the camelid regulations in the state of Arkansas. Working in close harmony with state veterinarian, Dr. Conley Byrd, the state of Arkansas changed their previous requirements for tuberculosis and brucellosis tests replacing them with a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. This is just one example of how LAArk is working for its members.
